CDOM Teacher Mass

Read carefully. It is CDOM, Catholic Diocese of Memphis.  My brain wanted to insert the -R for CD-ROM.   Occupational hazard I guess.

There is a special energy about the day that the teachers gather pre-students.  Everyone is glad to see their colleagues.  Get the chance to go out for lunch which won’t happen again until the end of the year.  It’s a time of joyful anticipation.

The communion song was One Bread One Body, a personal favorite.  I was in Yankee Stadium was it was sung for the first time when Pope John Paul II visited in 1979.

I knew only a few people in this church of about 500. Yet I was one of them in part because I am Catholic, not everyone in the church was, but because I am a teacher.

I’m feeling that joyful anticipation too. I’m getting to do something new.   I’m included.  It feels good.
